"Mit Eine Bullet!"

Two years ago we spent four months or so trying to sell our house. We got maybe a half-dozen calls, four or five showings, and an offer we rejected before finally taking our house off the market.

With the exception of taking our house off the market, we've had all of that crammed into two days. We actually had an offer before our house was even fully on the market. Of course it was our agent's parner trying to score an investment property on the cheap, but still, an offer is an offer, and it's a standing one in case something goes wrong and we can't get even close to our asking price anywhere else.

We had at least four showings today, though, so I don't think something is going to go wrong. I've been wrong before. But it sure feels different this time around. To quote an obnoxious Pythonian Frenchman, "Oh yez, eet's verrrry naaaaice!"

...and yes, I am aware of the redundancy of "obnoxious" and "Pythonian" in the same sentence....

That was quick. I'm glad this is a more positive spin around the block than the last one.

Yes, it was Greg. I wasn't the least bit surprised that his offer was just clipping the low edge of acceptable. His relentless pursuit of his or his clients' interests is one of the reasons we were interested in his being our agent. He was on vacation, though, so we went with one of his partners. Probably for the best anyhow, as we can now honestly say to anyone that calls that we do have an offer already, but we're more than happy to entertain others.

And yes, not selling last time was a blessing in disguise. Not only would a higher house payment been rougher to live with while unemployed, we're in a much better position now.

At any rate, though we still don't have a good offer yet, things are looking pretty positive. I just hope the last people to come see the house last night don't make a really good offer. The buyer needs to be out of her apartment by the end of the month, which means we'd have to find a house and be out of ours in about a week and a half. Yikes!
